  What is an acronym for Laser? Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation

   Will the laser melt my teeth or lip or tongue? No. Laser used in dentistry is safe and as a matter of fact most patient do not need needle (anesthetics) or drills. Lot of time we see in fiction movies that LASER weapons are capable of melting property, humans or aliens--those lasers are designed for that purpose while dental lasers are designed to perform special functions without changing or damaging the surrounding tissues or materials.

   What are the precautions you take in your office during laser procedure? Laser treatment is both effective and safe. We will give you special eyeglasses to wear during the dental procedure. We take training in the latest laser techniques to provide you with the best possible care that is safe and comfortable. 

    What are the procedures you can perform with laser? *Cavity removal before filling the teeth. *Treatment of Apthus Ulcer (canker sore/cold sore). *Surgical removal of fibroma, papilloma etc.*Gum treatment e.g. gingevectomy, gingivoplasty etc.*Treatment of tongue tie.* Root canal treatment*.And many more procedures without NEEDLE (in most cases).

   What are the Advantages of laser? *In most cases no needle, no numbness and no drills or unpleasant sound. *Enhanced bonding strength of fillings. *Very little or no discomfort during and after treatment. *Less bleeding.*Decreased risk of infection as it cuts, it sterilizes the area.*Quick healing.

    Any disadvantage of laser? Yes it can not cut metals (old metal fillings or caps), so you will need drills for those procedures where we can not use laser.
